About Bkids
Bkids was birthed in my heart in 2002 by the inspiration of God, but has come to the fore in the last 6 months or so. Like the saying goes...there's nothing as great as an idea whose time has come.
Essentially Bkids has evolved since its inception, and today our message is simply this..."be yourself". In a world of blurred values & smudged principles, where everyone & everything wants to be like the next person or thing, it's a struggle to hold on to one's uniqueness & identity. Grown-ups want to be young again, & kids are forced to grow-up before their time. Television & magazines dictate what we should wear & watch & adore & detest. If the global economic trend is technology, then everyone will study to become an IT expert. If it's finance, then we're all pursuing an MBA whether or not we're good at business or even like it.
Bkids says let us teach kids to be themselves. Let them be true to the cry of their hearts that God Himself deposited within them. Teach them to be strong & follow their dreams, to be bold & pursue their interests with gusto, even if no one else is on the same page as they are. Be their greatest cheerleader. Help them identify who they are, what they were born to do, what they love & what they're passionate about & guide them to fulfill their destiny. For it is in such a place & state that they can become great.
Let their uniqueness come through in the way they think, talk, walk, dance, dress, sing & generally express themselves.
The clothes they wear are just one form of an outward expression of their tastes, perceptions & preferences dictated by internal or external influences.
At Bkids we design clothes that let Nigerian kids be kids. Our clothes are practical, comfortable, durable & at the same time trendy, colourful & stylish. We incorporate an ethnic touch to some of our lines & call it "African Fusion", where foreign styles meet local flavours; where denim meets adire & mass-produced garments meet hand-made & hand-dyed fabrics. It incorporates the best of all worlds, mixing global concepts to create a style that is uniquely Bkids.
